Bakery Customer & Operations Assistant

About the Role
Hungry Cakes is a small-scale, 100% eggless pre-order home bakery, not a storefront or café.
We are looking for a smart, confident, and responsible person to join our team and help us manage customer interactions and day-to-day bakery operations. The candidate will work directly from our home-bakery setup in Pune for approximately 4–5 hours a day, 6 days a week.
While our scale is small, our cakes are made to order and often customized for special occasions. Every customer interaction and order matters, so we are looking for someone who is dependable, attentive, and comfortable taking responsibility.
What You'll Do
Customer Communication
- • Respond to enquiries on WhatsApp and Instagram
- • Attend phone calls and answer order questions
- • Communicate politely and clearly in English, Hindi, and Marathi
- • Keep customers updated with friendly follow-ups
Orders & Operations
- • Track enquiries, confirmed orders, and delivery dates
- • Coordinate customer requirements directly with the baker
- • Maintain inventory of ingredients, packaging, and boxes
- • Assist with order organization and bakery dispatch
Events & Pop-up Stalls
- • Hungry Cakes occasionally participates in seasonal flea markets, society events, and exhibitions
- • Assist with stall setup, product presentation, and stock
- • Engage with visitors, handle customer sales, and billing
- • Additional compensation is provided for extended event hours
Who Would Be a Great Fit?
College students and freshers are welcome to apply! Previous bakery, retail, or customer-service experience is not required. We care more about your communication skills, positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
Working Schedule & Setup
- Schedule: 4–5 hours/day, 6 days/week
- Location: On-site from Hungry Cakes' home-bakery in Pune
- Events: Occasional seasonal pop-up stalls/events (extra pay for extended hours)
